The two statements
These are independent of each other: one is a message Com2uS posted itself, the other is a named employee answering questions. A lot of outlets have covered the Switch version, but most of that coverage traces back to the first statement alone — being reported ten times is not the same as being confirmed ten times, and we count sources, not headlines.

“Currently developing the Nintendo Switch version alongside the PC version, and it’s already in the playtesting stage. There’s no release date yet, but the team is working hard to bring it to you as soon as possible.”

“Our current priorities are the Steam release on August 31 and the Nintendo Switch version that is now in development.”

Read the first one carefully and it is more specific than the second: it puts the build at the playtesting stage, which is a development milestone rather than a marketing word. Read the second one carefully and it is doing something different — it lists the Switch version among the team’s current priorities, alongside a Steam release that has since happened. Neither sentence promises a year.
One thing worth knowing if you go looking yourself: ZENONIA 1’s own Steam record says nothing about a Switch version. Its store page lists Windows only, and none of its news posts mention Nintendo. That is not a contradiction — a Steam listing describes the Steam product — but it does mean both confirmations live entirely outside Valve’s platform, which is why each one is attributed to where Com2uS actually said it.
