Cookie Policy

ZENONIA Wiki keeps cookie use minimal because there are no accounts to sign into.
What we use
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors and sessions. This one is a real tracking cookie — it is the only cookie on this site that is. |
| (none) | Plausible | Our self-hosted Plausible instance is cookieless. |
| (none) | Cloudflare Web Analytics | Cookieless beacon injected by our host. |
The site sets no cookies of its own: it has no accounts, no cart, and no preferences to remember. Blocking every cookie here costs you nothing — every page renders and every table works with cookies disabled.
- Essential cookies. None required for core browsing — every content page works without accepting anything.
- Analytics — the three are not equivalent, so we will not summarise them as one.
Plausible (self-hosted) and the Cloudflare beacon are cookieless. Google Analytics 4
is not: it sets
_gaand_ga_*, they persist across sessions, and they let Google recognise a returning visitor. They are first-party cookies on this domain, but "first-party" is not the same as "not tracking". An earlier version of this page said our analytics avoided persistent tracking cookies — that sentence was true of two of the three and false of the third, which made it false as written. This replaces it. - Advertising — there are currently no ads on this site, so no ad cookies are set. If that changes we expect a single small Adsterra unit; ad networks set their own cookies to manage frequency, we would not read or control their contents, and we will update this page before any of it goes live rather than after.
- YouTube embeds. Trailer videos on this site are click-to-load — no YouTube cookie is set until you press play, and at that point it is YouTube's cookie, governed by Google's policies, not ours.
Managing cookies
Your browser lets you block or delete cookies at any time (usually under Settings → Privacy). Blocking ad-network cookies will not break any content page on this site.
For the one cookie this site itself sets — Google Analytics — you don't need to go through browser settings at all: change your Google Analytics choice directly on this page, below. Blocking it in your browser only clears the cookie; the control below also clears the choice we stored, so GA4 won't be re-enabled on your next visit.
Changes
If our cookie use changes, this page's date will change with it.
