Privacy Policy

ZENONIA Wiki (zenonia.wiki) is an unofficial, fan-made reference site. It does not have user accounts, does not require sign-up, and does not sell anything.

What we collect

• Analytics — named, because "privacy-respecting analytics" was not accurate. This site loads three separate things, and they do not behave the same way:
  • Google Analytics 4 (googletagmanager.com). This one does set cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and does let Google associate activity with a visitor across sessions. An earlier version of this page described our analytics as not using cookies and not building a profile. That was wrong about GA4, and it is the sentence this one replaces.
  • Plausible (self-hosted at analytics.alphagaindaily.com). Cookieless, aggregate only, and the data stays on our own instance.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon (static.cloudflareinsights.com), injected by our host. Cookieless, aggregate. You can block all three with standard tracking-protection or ad-blocking settings, and nothing on this site stops working when you do.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) retains standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and performance for a limited period.

We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details, because the site never asks for them.

Advertising

As of 2026-09-01 this site shows no ads at all. If that changes we expect it to be a single small ad unit from Adsterra, and we will say so here before it goes live. Ad networks set their own cookies to control frequency and we would not control what they do with that data. You can block ad units with standard browser ad-blocking or tracking-protection settings.

Third-party content

Screenshots and trailers embedded on this site are hosted by Steam (Valve) and YouTube. Loading an embedded video only happens after you click play, and at that point YouTube's own privacy policy applies to the embedded player.

Data retention

We keep no database of visitors — no accounts, no profiles, no per-visitor records of our own. What retention there is belongs to three separate systems, and they are not the same, so naming them separately is more useful than one sentence about "provider defaults":

• Plausible runs on our own self-hosted instance. It stores aggregate counts, not per-visitor rows, and we keep those aggregates for as long as the site exists. There is nothing in them that identifies you, which is the whole reason we run it.
• Google Analytics 4 only receives anything if you allowed it (see the banner, or the Cookie Policy). Its retention is governed by Google's own data-retention control on the property, and Google — not us — holds that data. If you allowed GA4 and want that reversed, clearing this site's cookies removes the _ga identifier from your browser; anything already sent sits with Google under their policy.
• Cloudflare keeps standard request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) for our host's own security and performance purposes, under Cloudflare's retention, not ours.

We are being deliberately unspecific in exactly one place: we have not independently verified Google's and Cloudflare's current retention windows, so we are not going to print a number for them as though we had.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
